Four years after buying it, I'm still very satisfied with my water-rower. I did a lot of research before buying it. I'm an experienced gym user and have owned a gym-quality exercise bike for a decade. I discovered ages ago that it's worth buying high quality kit for use at home because if you buy a cheap option then it is very often clunky, uncomfortable to use and fragile. If you invest a lot in a decent bit of kit then it should last for years PLUS you're more motivated to use it. I can't stand the thought of spending that much money and letting it go to waste!

The water-rower is unlike most other rowing machines in that it is very handsome to look at. It's going to sit in your living room (or where ever) and the wooden finish and design make it much easier on the eye than the usual lots of metal and white plastic.
The water-rower is also very different in that you're not pulling against cogs or chains, but a tub of water. So the action is *very* smooth, and the sound is very pleasant. The action is much less snatchy than most home rowers. Overall it's very easy to use and this encourages me to use it more often.
When not in use the waterrower can be stored upright, so although it is very long you could stand it on end behind a door to tuck it away.
Unlike many rowing machines, the waterrower doesn't use an external power source so you don't have to plug it into the mains. (That always drives me mad, that my exercise bike needs to draw power yet I'm pedalling away producing loads of the stuff!). The only power supply needed for the waterrower are batteries for its monitor.

Downsides: the monitor on mine (a type III a think) has a liquid crystal display which is hard to see in bright sunlight and impossible to see in dim lighting.
You need to be careful about positioning the foot pads before you tighten them at initial assembly time. If two people are using the machine regularly, and they have very different sized feet, then it's important to make sure the straps will be in the right place for both -- at first mine was hard to use because it had been set up for someone with much bigger feet than me.
You will also need to hang on to the allen key tool provided for assembly, because over time your rower's fixings will loosen with vibration. It's best to check and tighten them every six months or so.
I have found it very hard to change the water level (and thus the basic resistance), because the bung is a very tight fit and quite diffuclt to remove without damaging the surround. So I tend to use speed as my variable rather than resistance, and this is the one area in which the water-rower is less flexible than a traditional rowing machine.

The Water-rower is available in ash and other wood and metal finishes. There is very little difference between the actual workings of the rower; it's down to what sort of wood you prefer. The ash is the lightest colour and the cheapest option, and over time the wood tends to darken naturally. You can pay more for a different finish, but you're not getting any operational improvement for the extra money.

Finally, the water rower is not a cheap rowing machine even though it is very accomplished. As you might expect, plenty of people buy a rowing machine with good intentions but don't use it very much in the long run, and this means you can find secondhand ones in excellent condition.
If you're going to buy it brand new, then you need to be very certain that you're going to use it! However, if mine was stolen (or something) then I would definitely replace it with another waterrower, and I find traditional-type rowing machines at gyms quite unpleasant to use in comparison.

im comparing this with what is-was considered to be the best rowing machine out there the CONCEPT rower
Bought this after using cocept rower and i think this is far superior , excellent build quality , smoother as it has 2 runners the seat is more comfortable aswell
with this water rower you get 100% resistance all the time immediately from picking up the stroke which u dont quite get with the concept the stroke is also very smooth (no chain)and the footrests are not fixed so move with your own rowing motion
its also a lot smaller in length all be it slightly wider so takes up a lot less space when in use and a lot easier to store
as it stands up on its own rollers so can be moved easily and in one piece

the onboard computer is also excellent , but so is the concepts

both excellent well built machines (but they should be for the money your paying)
but overall in my opinion the water rower is far better , it makes the concept look and feel old now .

I've been using my waterrower for nearly four years and am still very pleased with it. I did a lot of research before buying it. I'm an experienced gym user and have owned a gym-quality exercise bike for a decade. It's going to sit in your living room (or where ever) and the wooden finish and design make it much easier on the eye than the usual expanse of whaite plastic. Having said that. I much prefer the wood finishes to the metal version (like this one), and would never cough up the extra cash for the stainless steel, top of the range one. The function is much the same across the range, and the wood finish fits in much better in my domestic situation.

The waterrower is also very different in that you're not pulling against cogs or chains, but a tub of water. So the action is *very* smooth, and the sound is very pleasant. The action is much less snatchy than most home rowers. Overall it's very easy to use and this encourages me to use it more often.

It has plenty of measurements (strokes per minute, distance travelled and so on) but not calories -- which si the one I'm really interested in. The later monitor can be fitted but it's a faff.

The performance monitor option makes this rower more expensive than the standard ash rower. You may not need to buy a performance monitor: I have occasionally used mine but tend to just jump on and row without worrying about the widget. The monitor will be useful if you are training for something specific and want to keep records -- but you can spend a lot less if you're less worried about the finish of the wood or getting an extra gadget. The cheaper versions of this rower are functionally very similar.

To begin, I have said a little about this product on my review for Golds Gym GG-H151 Sure Lock Dumbbell Handle Set.

I have been very pleased again with Golds Gym products, although with this, I was disappointed to learn that the "Golds Gym" writting on the sides are no more than just stickers. I don't know and maybe I'm asking for too much, but when I think of Golds Gym, I think Very High Quality which others find hard to match. I kind of hoped maybe the lettering was actually part of the paint job, as this is a Golds product and not some third party simulation with the cheap stickers.

At the end of the day though, you don't stand there looking at how pretty the thing is and all you want is for it to do the job it is intended for, which it does very nicely. So even with the stickers, I'd still give this 5 stars as I love the strength of the build and its help in maintaining a safe workout area without the worry of tripping over stray weight plates.

Still excellent value and quality for forty squids.

Golds gym wrist lifting glove, 9 Mar 2010

I bought these for wrist support when lifting relatively light weights. The gloves fit the requirement perfectly.

Only downside -after first session my hands turned grey with the dye, but luckily it washed off! Tattoooed male heavvyweightlifters probably won't mind but as a middle-aged woman, I have slightly different requirements!

Received this item courtesy/via "Vit-Shop".
When they arrived it was obvious that they were way too small - couldn't even get my fingers in.
I had purposely ordered a large - but they didn't go anywhere near. I have had weight lifting gloves in this size before and they fitted perfectly.
Phoned the company and they said that they were aware that Golds Gym gloves are known for doing small sizes - so why didn't it say this on the website!!!
To make matters worse - they don't do a XL (but I think I would need XXL - if it existed)

As instructed, I sent the package back in it's original packaging to expect a refund - but I would lose all the money on all the P&P needed. After several weeks of waiting the money had still not been put back in my account, I have phoned to enquire about this and they have said that they have made a mistake (yeah, mistake thinking I would forget) and the money should appear soon - let's see!

This pair of gloves is very poorly made.
the fitting is absolutely poor,especially when doing exercise the palm hearts because they used hard leather.
fitting and overall quality is poor.
i would definitely recommend everyone out there to go for something different, maybe something without the wrist strap.
